Grace is not just that misty spirit of sanctity which perfumes tableaus. It is also the sparkle of prophecies, a fire that fascinates at the point where the word, gesture and the passions meet. Grace is the flower in its dawn, the candour of the dance’s frenzy. Grace supplies us with a smile and a daily greeting. Simple as the air, fragile and and shining like crystal, grace is that river of light that floods emotion with the caress of the arts. saludo cotidiano. Simple como el aire, frágil y brillante de cristal, la gracia es aquel río de luces que inunda la emoción con la caricia de las artes.

ABOUT

GRACIA BARROCA is an artistic group led by countertenor Leandro Marziotte. Focused on an historical interpretation of repertoire from the 17th and 18th centuries, Gracia Barroca explores both sacred and secular repertoire in concerts and multifaceted performances, opening its horizon to new audiences of all kinds.

Gracia Barroca has established its roots in the Gracia district of Barcelona. From the silent vaults of Nuestra Señora de Gracia to the exuberant splendour of the Park Güell, this dynamic chamber ensemble presents its artistic project with the plurality and vibrancy that characterises one of the most multicultural neighbourhoods in the world.

GRACIA BARROCA begins its activities with three artistic proposals for countertenor and ensemble. The group will gradually expand its projects to explore different horizons and collaborate with a wide range of artists.

Artistic Direction

After singing as a countertenor soloist in concerts and operas in theatres around the world, Leandro Marziotte wanted to embrace a new challenge. Taking charge of the artistic direction of a group entails many responsibilities and decisions, not only musical, but also personal and administrative, requiring dedication and commitment.

At the same time, artistic direction generates a unique flexibility when it comes to researching and choosing new repertoire. The result is interesting and diverse programming, and the chance to offer audiences a tailor-made performance to enjoy.
